R_8 - apply() - an alternative to loops - Part 1
The purpose of apply() is primarily to avoid explicit uses of loops in R script - The base appply() function can be used on matrices or data frames. In this lecture I discuss the syntax and demonstrate with examples the utility of apply() function.
