The image was sent in to me by John Wright, who captured three bracketed exposures of Uluru and wanted to know how to make the sky pop without blowing out the foreground and subject.
The critical piece of the puzzle was creating selections that could be used to isolate adjustment layers to specific areas of the photo by brushing through the selections and into the adjustment layers' masks.
