Located in Petropolis, Brazil in the state of Rio de Janeiro, the GE Aviation, Services—Celma facility has come a long way since 1951 when electric domestic fans were built there. Today, at 540,000 square feet with two test cells, the facility overhauls more than 300 CF6, CFM56 and CF34-10E aircraft engines annually. CF34-10E new-engine assembly was added in 2011, and the recent addition of an 80,000-pound capacity test cell enables the site to conduct overhauls on GEnx engines.
