TLDV: Had a blast I am from older school RPGS like TES and Eq2 and Vanguard Saga of Heroes, etc.! Id say this game is alot like TES and Runescape, but the reaility is those games are derivative from UO and RG! Just make sure to have a top end pc and (most) of the optimization issues will be gone!
Hey youtube Indendar here!
today in the continuation of my golden age of mmo series where I try out all the MMOS
currently available and make some first impression videos.
Today we have shroud of the avatar, which was a kickstarter game with somewhat low publicity.
It is currently offering a free trial which can can downloaded and you can start playing imeedietly to see for yourself.
The trail only limits how high your skills can go and disables trade between players, but I feel you can test out all the game systems mechanics and gameplay to see if it's something you can get into. Will put direct link below in comments.
This is just first impressions and what I experienced in about 16 hours of gameplay I plan to contiue with another vid with a more in depth look in the future.
Shrould of the Avatar was Developeled my Richard Garriet and Portalarium.
this is they guy who brought us Ultima Online and coinded the term MMO RPG.
Richard has been said to have a somewhat excentric nature, I have even heard he has a guy play a lute while he does his dev work, whats wrong with that really? I actually thought of doing that on youtube if I had a larger dicretionary budget.
One Major thing before we start today and seesm to put off many players, is this game has a high hardware requirements
Here are my current specs, this is a almost brand new pc and although the game runs great with steady fps for the most part for me, I have to wonder what would of happened If I first played this on my last PC.
This game starts with 5 gigs of ram and just goes up from there. Expect crashes and issues on anything less than 16, which I did test. If you have issues with optimizations on a game like BDO this one will be even more so.
You will need fast cpu, lots of ram, a modern GPU, and SSD to reduce loading times.
