A VDI is a personalized computer -- accessed from anyone’s computer. A virtual desktop infrastructure eradicates the need for separate home and business laptops; watch to learn why.

A VDI, or virtual desktop infrastructure, hosts an operating system on a centralized server. With a VDI, authorized users can access anything on an organization's server, from any device, through a secure portal. Meaning, any device can be used to access a company server and company files -- employees won’t need dedicated work laptops.

VDIs can be persistent -- used primarily for work and school environments -- or nonpersistent -- often used in public spaces like kiosks and libraries. VDI is popular for a variety of reasons, including cost, manageability, flexibility, and security benefits.

Let us know what your use cases for VDIs are in the comments below. And please remember to like this video.
