How To Install Proxmox On An Old PC
Proxmox is a Type 1 Hypervisor that allows you to dedicate a server for running virtual machines. Type 1 Hypervisors are used in the IT industry all the time and so you may want to try using them, VMWare ESXi is more popular for Enterprise use, but it costs money, is proprietary (cringe), and is designed for server hardware, not consumer hardware.
