windows 10 ransomware protection is now built into Windows 10! It's turned off by default and here I show you how to enable it and make basic changes if you haven't done so already.
You heard that right, ransomware protection is now built into Windows 10 for FREE.
ransomware has been on the rise over the last couple of years and is a form of malware or virus that this tutorial will show you the basics on using Windows Defender Antivirus to protect against ransomware attack and malicious encryption that could potentially lock you out fo your own files. Proper configuration by only allowing certain programs to write to your library folders reduces your attack surface on your machine because a malicious infected file will not have permissions to write to the defined folders. Now if you manually add programs that end up getting infected then it may not prevent damage from occurring so be sure to thoroughly research any programs that you need to add manually. This takes your internet security to the next level by only allowing what Microsoft and you define as safe being able to write yo your library folders.
