This one is a follow-up to one I posted earlier. It is the second roll of film from our Summer Vacation in 1978.

We start out on Mackinac Island in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The statue is Pere (Father) Jacques Marquette, who was a French Missionary in the 17th Century. There is apparently a similar statue in Marquette, MI, and a marble version in the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C...who knew?

We see a brief shot of the Grand Hotel and some footage of the harbor at Mackinac Island. Also some shots from the bridge. We went on up to the locks at Sault Ste. Marie and took a ferry ride through the locks over to Canada.

Next, we are at Mac Woods Sand Dunes, in Mears, MI (thanks Google, as always). I was looking pretty cool. I remember that Linda mistakenly dispatched Howard to take Heather and me to Kings Department Store for some summer clothes...my outfit occurred on Howard's watch...look at those shorts.

Cedar Point with Aunt Jan, Linda, Thad, me, Heather, Kim and her friend, Lisa, (I believe...can't remember her last name). Note my walking cast, which was a result of the infamous "Tree Fort Incident" on Forest Hill Dr.

Brief shot of the Circleville Pumpkin Show, circa 1978. I don't know why I remember this, but I believe cousin Kelly briefly got separated from the rest of us in the crowd, and a panic ensued. Obviously, she was retrieved successfully.

We start the 1978 Christmas festivities on Christmas Eve at The Klehm's (Grandma and Grandpa). The usual characters, Grandma and Grandpa, Me, Heather and Linda, Uncle Stanley and Aunt Florence...she was always Aunt Florence, never Aunt Flo, so nobody got the wrong idea. I believe this might have been the year Linda received a 110 volt shock off Grandpa Klehm's peculiarly rigged tree...put her in kind of a bad mood, as I recall...

Christmas morning on Forest Hill. Apathy was apparently no longer with us, but Maude had a starring roll. We got the usual assortment of board games, clothes, puzzles and books. It looks like Linda got the latest "Bodice Ripper" Harlequin Romance that she seemed to like so much. I got in trouble regularly for picking up her novels and reading aloud at random.

Later Christmas morning at Grandma and Grandpa Baker's on Oak Street in Marion. No extended family in 1978, just, the Grandparents, Howard, Linda, me, Heather, Maude, and LuLu, the German Shepherd.

My 13th Birthday, February 1979. Must have had a bad storm, as the entire backyard on Forest Hill was frozen.

Heather's 11th Birthday in June '79...must have been on a Sunday, judging by our clothes. Not sure why the two dachshunds...we must have had Cindy, Maude's mom for some reason.

Fourth of July parade scenes at the end. One thing I've noticed...we attended a lot of parades while I was growing up...LOL.
