Liverpool had to come from behind to keep their Premier League title aspirations alive after goals form Matip and Mane cancelled out the opener from Douglas Luiz. Villa, to their credit, never gave up and did have a Danny Ings goal disallowed for offside. The result means Liverpool now go level with Manchester City atop the Premier League table.

Alisson pulls off a save to deny Douglas Luiz, who pounced on the rebound to beat his compatriot with a second attempt and put Aston Villa ahead. Poor defending by Liverpool.

It took Liverpool just three minutes to react. Aston Villa's defence failed to deal with a free-kick. Emiliano Martinez denied Virgil Van Dijk, but Joel Matip turned the rebound in from close range to equalise for the Reds.

Goal for Liverpool. Mane heads home from close range following a precise Diaz cross on the counter following a Villa error in the middle third and the Reds turn the game around.
