This is a quick synology dsm 7 firewall setup to step you through the basics on configuring the firewall in DSM 7. In older versions of DSM you had to enable the firewall feature for some other security features to function even if they were enabled. Since around DSM 6.2.4 that has changed for the better to make it more intuitive for a user to secure their NAS using the synology nas firewall. You can also setup synology geo blocking which is geographically blocking access or allowing access from a certain region(s) that you define.
