What is Gap Analysis? Importance of Gap Analysis
Gap analysis is the process of assessing and understand what a company needs to achieve its target state and business growth, using gap analysis tools like SWOT analysis, the McKinsey S7 framework, and the Nadler-Tushman model. At the most basic level of gap analysis, stakeholders have to identify what’s missing, and what’s needed to get where they want to be. Project managers and process improvement teams play a key role here, and they use gap analysis reports and gap analysis tools to identify which services and functions are missing, which are unnecessary, and which need development.
