FM radio station: energy of the photon using E=hf.
In this video, we compute the energy of a radio wavelength photon from an FM radio station. We are given the frequency of the photon in MHz, and we calculate the energy of the photon using E=hf.
We get the energy for radio photons in Joules, then we use the conversion 1eV=1.6*10^-19J to convert the energy to eV. We obtain an energy in eV, and the energy is less than that of a typical visible wavelength photon by 7 orders of magnitude, reminding us how low-energy radio waves really are!
