Combine the vintage Nikon 58mm f/1.2 w/ Hasselblad 907X50C for a true in camera medium format look.

I've always been obsessed with the "look" of medium and large format. Ever since discovering the work of Ryan Brenizer and his method of bokeh panoramas I've always been on the hunt for ways to create incredibly shallow depth of field with as wide of a field of view as possible - something that's very much a part of the "look" of medium format vs 35mm.

Which brings me to the Nikon 58 1.2 lens. It's a manual focus lens from 1977 that is designed for 35mm film cameras. I used it a LOT (along with the cheaper nikon 50 1.2) for bokeh panoramas because the end result would yield a very pleasing look of roughly 40mm @ f/0.8-f/0.9 (depending on the stitching overlap in post). Even though I switched to Canon with the release of the EOS R I never sold my Nikon 58mm simply because it's a bit of a collectable. Also, since it's manual focus I'd always have the ability to use it on other camera mounts/brands via Fotodiox adapters.
