On Saturday, February 11, 2024, the devastating news of the tragic death of the fastest man to ever run the marathon hit us all. While behind the wheel, 24 year old Kelvin Kiptum’s Toyota came off the road in western Kenya, killing him and his coach, Garvais Hakizimana. His tragic death left behind his wife and two kids, but also a career that was destined to change the running community and, if not the world, forever. May he rest in peace.

In his honour, I run for 2 hours and 35 seconds, his marathon personal best and the world record.
