SM58 (USA) vs SM58 (Mexico)

2:34 Comparing the USA SM58 to the Shure SM7B
Today I bought a Shure SM58 directly from Shure. At least I believe so. I compared its sound to the Shure SM58 and I was shocked to find out that they sounded very different from each other. I had my suspicions because many Youtubers on the SM58 were able to get a tone very similar to the Shure SM7B and when I tested the audio on my end they sounded nothing alike. However upon testing the United States SM58 the sound is darker, much darker compared to the Mexico SM58 that I have by comparison. I'm not entirely sure whether the Mexico Sm58 is a counterfeit or if it is meant to sound different - but the differences are dramatic. This is the first time I can see why people say the SM58 is a great sounding mic - and it's the first time I can see why people say the Sm58 is 'easy to EQ'. Everything I have said about the SM58 up until this point is wrong and I need to change my information.
