Xiaomi is set to commence deliveries of its first electric car on March 28, as announced via Weibo. Orders will be taken in 59 stores across 29 cities in China. A launch event is scheduled for the same day, where the price of the new electric vehicle (EV) will be revealed. Following this announcement, Xiaomi's shares experienced their largest intraday jump in over a year, rallying by 11.34% in trade on March 12. At the unveiling of the SU7 sedan, Xiaomi's CEO expressed ambitions for the company to become one of the world's top 5 automakers.
