The largest Mammalian Carnivore that Turned out Not to Be
In the 70s the jaw of an ancient carnivorous mammal was discovered when it was described many years later one possible figure that was listed as a max size estimate was taken by the media which became the popular view of the animal. However, in reality the animal was probably a lot smaller than this.
