This video will walk you through the process of fixing shortcuts not working in start menu and icons not working in start menu.
Sometimes shortcuts of programs in start menu stop working - when clicking on the shortcut in start menu, the program doesn't open. Simply means that shortcut in start menu not working at all.
In this video, I am using windows 7 in which shortcuts not working in start menu but it's same on almost windows 7, windows 8, windows 10.
Instructions on how to fix icons and shortcuts not working in start menu on windows pc.
1. Right click any program not working in start menu and choose properties.
2. Click on Security tab. Inside security, click on add button and add on your computer's username(exactly same) for which shortcuts not working in start menu.
Important: Inside security, if not find Add button then click on continue button and follow same instructions above.
3. Once you have added Username you will be directed to security options again.
4. Select newly added Username by clicking on it and in permissions just below it select "Full Control" "Allow".
Now check shortcuts in start menu it should have started working if you have added right Username and right permissions.
Important: if you already have added Username in the list then remove and add once again.
