DAY ONE Chandler Halderson Trial, POWERFUL Opening Statements (2022)
In 2022, I summarized the Chandler Halderson trial, but had not yet covered a trial on my channel. This is a trial I have always wanted to watch with you, so, let's do it! CASE BACKGROUND: Chandler Halderson was a 23-year-old from Windsor, Wisconsin who lived with his parents, Bart and Krista Halderson. In July 2021, Chandler reported his parents missing, telling police that they had traveled to their cabin for the July 4th weekend but had not returned. By July 8th, 2021, human remains had been found at the home and in an area where Chandler had visited and he was arrested. His girlfriend, Cathryn, provided crucial evidence in the case against him by sharing Snapchat location data that contradicted his alibi and the screenshots she took of his Facetime calls during the weekend he dismembered his parent's remains (while pretending everything was normal). The trial lasted ten days, the jury found him guilty on all eight counts, including the two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, and Chandler was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole in March 2022.
