Genshin Impact is an open-world action role-playing game developed by miHoYo. The game is set in the fantastical world of Teyvat, a land brimming with elemental magic and diverse landscapes. Teyvat is divided into seven nations, each associated with a different element and ruled by a god connected to that element. These nations are Mondstadt (Anemo), Liyue (Geo), Inazuma (Electro), Sumeru (Dendro), Fontaine (Hydro), Natlan (Pyro), and Snezhnaya (Cryo).
The story follows the "Traveler," a mysterious figure who arrives in Teyvat from another world. At the beginning of the game, the Traveler becomes separated from their twin sibling by an unknown god. Stranded and alone, the Traveler embarks on a quest to reunite with their sibling, traversing the various nations of Teyvat.
Players explore Teyvat, completing quests, solving puzzles, and fighting enemies using a party of up to four characters. Each character has unique elemental abilities and can switch between different weapons and skills to create synergistic effects in combat. The game's "gacha" system allows players to obtain new characters and weapons through a randomized reward mechanism.
