One of the final scenes filmed during the last 24 hours of principal photography for "The Return of the King" was the coronation scene, which felt rushed. The actor recalls being exhausted and the significance of the scene making it emotionally intense. Initially, there was a plan to film the kiss between their character and Viggo Mortensen's character with a stunt double, which was upsetting. Fortunately, Liv Tyler convinced the crew to bring Viggo back for the actual kiss, ensuring the scene was done properly.
