According to tradition, dating back to 2000, on the last weekend of September the streets of Vladivostok are painted in orange and black - the capital of Primorye celebrates the Tiger Day.
The history of this festival dates back to 2000, when famous writer and hunting expert Vladimir Troinin initiated the establishment of the holiday, dedicated to the main character and the inhabitant of Primorsky Krai - the Amur (Siberian) tiger. The idea of the Tiger Day met support among people and the city authorities, and by 2001 the holiday became official.
The Amur Tiger Center, the Administration of Primorsky Krai and Vladivostok Administration organize the event.
