Touching one’s own genitals is a self soothing behavior that people often discover in early childhood or even infancy. It isn’t bad or wrong and there’s no right age per se— if you’re a parent and you see your child touching themselves instead of being alarmed or angry it’s just helpful to let them know that this is something that should only be done in private.
