How To Block A Website in Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10, follow these steps:
Open Notepad as administrator. Then open the following location:
C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc.
In the folder named etc, change the file type from “Text Documents” to “All Files”. Then, click on the file names “hosts”.
Now, in the notepad, go down and enter “127.0.0.1 followed by the urls of the websites you want to block. If you are blocking multiple websites, leave a space between the urls.
Then click “File” and click “Save”.
If the blocked websites still open, add or remove “www” before the entered urls in the notepad file.
