Git is a distributed version control system that allows multiple developers to work on a project simultaneously, track changes, and maintain a history of all modifications. Git helps to manage and keep track of different versions of a project, making it easy to revert back to an older version if necessary. It also facilitates collaboration by allowing developers to merge their changes with others, and resolve conflicts that may arise. Git is widely used for software development and has become the industry standard for version control.
