At the end of the pilot episode, it is revealed that Sid and Jesse actually live in the same apartment that Ted, Lily, and Marshal lived in. Jesse mentions that they got the apartment from an old married couple who posted the listing on the university alumni group. This means that they took over the lease from Lily and Marshal. There are so many different easter eggs in the apartment, and the original decorative swords are still hanging on the wall. Also, there is a wooden pineapple in the kitchen of Sophie and Valentina. This is a reference to the Pineapple Incident from the first season of How I Met Your Mother.
