Luban 102 Low Angle Block Plane - Workbench Musings
We got a Luban 102 Low Angle Block Plane to try out, which is 'inspired' by the Lie-Nielsen 102 Low Angle Block Plane. Earlier versions were direct copies. The newer ones seem to have changed the design a slight bit.
My findings:
-The Luban is slightly bigger than the Lie-Nielsen
-The Luban has rough edges that may be sharp where you don't want things to be sharp
-The Luban iron needs to be sharpened, but it is very good, very hard steel
-The knurling on the adjustment mechanism is not as grippy as I'd like
