Chief's Island, located in the heart of Botswana's Okavango Delta, is a rare and pristine wildlife sanctuary where endangered species like the wild dog thrive in larger packs than anywhere else in Africa. Traditionally an exclusive hunting ground for the chief of the Bwana tribe, this 500-square-mile island is now part of the Moremi Game Reserve, preserving its natural state and allowing only natural predator-prey interactions.

Predators, including lions, cheetahs, and wild dogs, are most active during dawn and dusk, each with unique hunting preferences. The region supports the largest free-ranging herds of African elephants, with over 100,000 elephants representing more than 15% of Africa's total population.
