When your liver is damaged, whether by illness, drinking too much alcohol, or for any other reason, it attempts to heal itself. Scar tissue develops as a result. Advanced cirrhosis is potentially fatal because it causes the liver to become increasingly difficult to function as more scar tissue forms. Cirrhosis normally results in irreversible liver damage, but if it is detected early and the underlying cause is treated, additional damage can be prevented and, in rare cases, reversed. #shorts #animation #liver #cirrhosis #health
