Hello and welcome to the IT Convergence User Productivity Kit tutorial series. This is a demonstration of how to enhance content with hotspot questions within sections and topics in Oracle's UPK developer.
UPK questions are individual items which are used to test the user skills, competency and knowledge of the subject UPK a questions can help facilitate user adoption by offering the means to test and track if users understand both the how and why process. Basically it answers the end users questions of how do I complete this task and why my performing this task giving the end-user broader view of an organization's process.
A hotspot question includes a graphic with multiple highlighted areas. Or hotspot that promote the user to identify the area of the graphic which constitutes correct answer.
To create a new hotspot question, the first step is to click on the File menu point to new, point to question and choose hotspot. Click on the update image icon and to add a background image. Background image properties window will appear, select the desired image to upload. Click the click to add question text field and answer the question text.
In this example I'm going to write where is the ITC logo. Click the add option and drag the red box labeled number one to identify the first hotspot area on the background image. The hotspot can be resized accordingly. Repeat adding options steps for each hotspot that you want to add to the background image. Select the hot spot number that represents the correct answer in the response list.
In this example I will choose number two, click the click to add remediation text field to add remediation text if desired. To save the question, click the save icon. To link a new hotspot question, the first step is to select the desired document, module, section, or topic. Click on the link menu, click existing document, select the question and click link. To save the question, click the save icon.
To preview a question, open the question that you want to preview in the question editor. Click Preview on the question editor toolbar.
