i-D spends the day in Miami at Art Basel with long-time collaborators and friends Michèle Lamy and the Bronx-based culinary collective, Ghetto Gastro, consisting of Jon Gray, Pierre Serrao and Lester Walker.
From the centre of Rick Owen’s Miami store to the kitchen table of Jon’s home, i-D joins the group in a candid conversation where nothing is off the menu. They discuss everything from the duality of togetherness and food to finding the courage to claim your creativity amidst political upheaval. Their friendship is nurtured by a shared humour, mutual respect and ultimately a love of food.
Back at Jon’s house, the collective rustle up a Bronx-style waffle from their latest recipe book ‘Ghetto Gastro - Black Power Kitchen’. Each sharing their opinion on fashion, politics, culture + art, thus “opening their family conversations to the audience of i-D”.
