Easily Animate Text Highlights in Adobe After Effects

This is an effect I still see in newscasts and documentaries very often. It is an extraordinarily simple way to highlight text or any other image using masks. By applying the Hue, Saturation and Lightness effect, you can easily create this effect with opacity changes. If you want to be slightly more creative, you can animate the mask also.
