In 2003, Austrian table tennis player Werner Schlager shocked the world by winning the World Table Tennis Championships in Paris. Against all odds, he defeated some of the sport’s greatest legends, including Wang Liqin, Kong Linghui, and Joo Se Hyuk, to claim the gold medal.
