Whenever I'm designing a printed circuit board (PCB), I almost always put mounting holes on my printed circuit board, and when I do, I always include them in the schematic. I think it’s very important to use the schematic to give as much information about the entire board and design as possible, including mechanical parts.
In this video you will learn how to use Altium Designer 20 to create a schematic symbol in your local library and also a PCB land pattern (footprint) for that mounting hole.
In that process you learn how to:
Place pins
Change the grid (G on your keyboard)
Which grid spacing to use and why
Map a local PCB footprint to a local schematic symbol

Anyone who is using an ECAD software tool and wants to understand the idea of making a PCB from a schematic. Example PCB software would be the popular ones, like Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, Mentor Graphics PADS/Xpedition, KiCAD, Autodesk EAGLE, or even Altium (20 or previous versions).
