BimorphNodes v2 2 LinkElement.Element Transform Workflow
Workflow video using Bimorph Nodes v2.2 package with Dynamo BIM.
LinkElements are exclusive to BimorphNodes and inherit from Dynamo’s Revit.Elements.Element class, meaning instances are compatible with all of Dynamo’s Element nodes and any other nodes that accept Elements as inputs.
LinkElements are not compatible with all Dynamo nodes, such as Room.Number due to the inheritance tree. To resolve this issue, use the LinkElement.Element node to extract the wrapped Revit element (i.e. the Dynamo Revit Element).
Extracting the embedded Element discards the properties provided by the LinkElement. It means that any operations, such as geometry extraction, revert to the linked elements origin-to-origin location.
In this video we explore the solution to position linked element geometry at its host location.
Note: some of the video comments mention the Link Instance's center-to-center position, instead of its origin-to-origin position. Origin-to-origin is the correct terminology to avoid any confusion.
