You will need a Geo character, preferably the Traveler because their Geo skills are easier to cast on the torches. Noelle and Ninguuang can also work. Hydro and Cryo for Frozen and an Electro for Superconduct and Electro-Charged. A healer is also recommended because there is a fairly tough boss at the end.
First Area - Torch Puzzle
As you enter, head up the small stairway to the first area and you will see a torch puzzle. This is where you will need your Geo character so they can activate the torches.
If you look at the puzzle from the top of the stairs, activate the torches in the following order:
Top Left
Bottom Left
Bottom Right
Top Left again.
After a brief moment, you’ll be able to activate the centre contraption to reveal a stairway, continue up to the next area.
Once you activate the torch in the centre with your Geo character, you’ll have to defeat 20 enemies within 300 seconds. This is a tough battle with hard-hitting enemies. Immediately take out the Anemo Samachurl which doesn’t really have a weakness. A combination of Hydro and Cryo will set Frozen on it, follow up with Electro for either Superconduct or Electro-Charged and Pyro for Melt.
Take out the Hilichurl Shooters next because they will constantly put Elements on you, always be on the move to avoid being hit with them and take them out with melee charge attacks to knock them down.
As you start taking some of the enemies out, more will spawn. The Blazing Axe Mitachurl can be a pain with its constant spinning, keep your distance and wait for it to stop, again a combination of Hydro and Cryo will set Frozen on it or use Electro with either for either Superconduct or Electro-Charged and Pyro for Melt.
The hardest of the lot is the Stonehide Lawachurl. Use Geo to take down its shield whilst throwing in some Claymore attacks for good measure. The Lawachurl has a lot of major damage moves that need to be avoided:
Note
You can use Geo or Claymore attacks to break down their shield but be warned that they have around 70% resistance to Geo once their shield has dissipated.
It has your standard Melee Attack which can knock you down which is avoidable by dodging as soon as it raises its hand.
A Jumping Slam Down attack, what you want to do here is stand just outside the south of the red AoE marker and as it lands dodge away from it to avoid the Geo aftershock it creates as it hits the ground.
And finally, a Triple Slam attack will slam both arms on the ground and create an aftershock which will come out from it and head towards you. The easiest way to deal with this is to pick a direction and keep running that way, as each hit strikes the ground, time the dodge button the way you’re running. Sometimes it will only do one of these slams so it’s not always a triple attack.
Once their shield is down focus on using Hydro and Electro to trigger Electro-Charged which will deal continuous Electro damage over time and it will also interrupt their actions.
