In this online coding tutorial, I'll show you the difference between HTML and CSS. They are both fundamental languages for building a website — but rather than work independently, HTML and CSS always work together.
HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language.
You can think of HTML as the skeleton of the document. HTML is what gives structure to the site in its most basic form. We do this with tags, elements, and attributes. HTML is great for adding elements to a website like images, text, and hyperlinks.
CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheet.
If HTML is the structure of your page, CSS is the style. It’s not one or the other — they work together at all times. Without CSS a website would look just be plain black and white.
