The London musician Westerman began his career with a few spare, wordy folk singles. Over the years he added electronic soundscapes, ticking drum machines and piano-parts to his music and developed a unique style. On his new "Ark" EP the 27-year-old presents stunning, mellow and vulnerable songs. He says: "I wanted to be really direct with this, and for it to feel joyful and powerful in an unobtrusive sort of way."
Westerman is definitely a ‘one to watch’ for 2019, because he pushes folk-y sounds into gorgeous new directions. He visited us in our Berlin studio and performed a stripped down and guitar-led version of his song "Confirmation".
