Netgear Wifi Extender Not Working with spectrum router | Call (888) 346 4070 For Extender Support
I had this same problem with my Netgear ac750 Wi-Fi extender not working with spectrum router. Turns out it was spectrum routers firmware. And this video i had share with you how I had solved the same and how you can too do the same.
Hoping to save some of y’all some trouble if you’re having the same issue. Since then I have moved on to tenda nova mesh Wi-Fi system.

Steps to connect your extender to a hidden SSID:
1. Plugin the range extender to the power source and wait for it to boot up.
2. Connect a wireless client device to the default SSID of the Extender. This will automatically open the New Extender Setup page in your default browser.
Note: If the New Extender Setup page doesn’t come up automatically, it can be open with your browser using the URL www.mywifiext.net
3. Create an account to manage the Extender and click NEXT.
4. On the NETGEAR genie welcome screen, select “WIFI RANGE EXTENDER” to enter setup. Setup wizard will scan for the existing wireless network that is in range.
5. If the SSID of your router is hidden, it will not show up in the list. Select “Manually input my wireless SSID” and click NEXT.
6. Enter your router’s SSID in Network Name (SSID) box. Select the same security option as your router is using. Enter the password if necessary. Click NEXT and it will initialize the extender to connect with the router’s WiFi network.
7. After the extender initializes a connection with the router, you will be prompted to enter the SSID and password of the extender WiFi networks. If you wish to set the same security settings and password as your router then leave them unchanged and click NEXT to finalize the setup process.
8. If you wish to change the SSID or password, made the necessary changes and click NEXT to finalize the setup process.
9. Connect the client devices to the new wireless network of the extender and click Continue to finish the setup.
Trick to resolve Issue
Unplug router and modem power cables from the outlet and disconnect the ethernet cable from the modem to the router, wait 2 minutes. Plug the power back into the modem only and wait 5 minutes, your modem may show that the internet is back up but wait the full time anyway. After 5 minutes plug the ethernet cable back in and plug the router power cable back in. Sometimes the modems are touchy about assigning an IP to the router and just being patient and retrying works. I have a Spectrum Ubee modem that won't just reconnect if it loses power, waiting for the modem to be fully powered and connected to the internet for a while then powering on the router seems to do the trick.
