Whilst diving Nkhata bay, Kathy my dive buddy and I came across an area where there were a large amount of male Dimidiochromis kiwinge but not many females present. This footage will clearly show a Male swimming in amongst the fry (Not predating) as he swims off you can clearly see the fry try and follow him!

This footage has been shared around with my peers and to be honest we're still unsure if this behaviour has ever been documented.

We often associate fry being protected by the female! Could this be proof that males of this species also help with the upbringing of the fry?
Let me see your thoughts in the comments.

I apologise for the lack of videos. I've had my reasons but this isn't the place to discus them. This footage was uploaded as private to be shared amongst my peers.
I currently have no means to edit and upload my videos and my laptop has died a miserable death.
