Adderall, Ritalin, and other stimulants commonly used to treat ADHD have been sweeping the nation by students seeking better grades. It’s time to dive deep into the science and separate fact from fiction: do stimulants actually help improve your grades?

First, this is a strictly an educational video only. I am not recommending that anyone take any prescription medications without a prescription for said medication. I personally have never taken any drugs or substances to help me study or be productive, including stimulants, except for the caffeine that comes in coffee. Second, I am not your doctor and this does not constitute medical advice in any capacity. Third, this video and the content here is primarily target at individuals who are curious to learn about these substances as cognitive enhancers.

Methylphenidate (Ritalin) and Amphetamine (Adderall) are the two prescription stimulants most commonly used by students as cognitive enhancers. These are Schedule II substances in the U.S., and while they are effective in treating ADHD, they should not be used by those without a prescription.
