There are two ways to create online questionnaires: Click New or My Drive.
Next to Google Forms, click the triangle for "Blank form" or "From a template."
Give it a title and some short information.
You don't have to save. Google does that automatically and continuously.
When you're done for the day and close the tab, you can find it again in your Google Drive the next day.
Google will automatically insert the first question. It's defaulting to a multiple-choice question.
Click on the triangle next to multiple-choice to see all your questions and options.
Short answers and Paragraphs allow your participants to write a short or long text. You can give them multiple-choice questions or questions with checkboxes or dropdown menus to choose from. You can even ask them to upload a file, for example, a resumé, an essay, or a report. There are also scales, for example, "What's your opinion on a scale of one to five?" You can pack questions together in multiple-choice or checkbox grids. You can even let your participants choose certain times or pick dates.
By design, multiple-choice questions have pre-determined or fixed responses.
Traditionally, radio buttons are used when the participants can only pick one alternative when designing surveys. Under the questions, there are a couple of options for you.
You can re-arrange the order by clicking and dragging questions up and down.
To choose a new design, scroll to the top and click the color palette. To close the theme options, click the X.
At any time, even if you're not finished, you can preview your survey. Just click the eye icon at the top. It will open up a new tab. To exit, close the tab, as usual.
There are also templates. You can create a new survey based on any of these templates at any time. The form is already been created. All you must do is change the text to fit your needs. You can also add or delete questions. This is an easy way to get started.
Next, under the presentation tab, you can choose to show a progress bar.
It will let your participants know how far along they are. You can shuffle the question order for each participant if you want. And you can provide a link to them if you have a second survey for them to complete. The Quizzes tab is used for tests.
Click the Send button to make the survey public and send the link to the participants.
There are three options: email, send a link, or put the survey on a website.
Choose the first option to send it to a specific email address.
The second option is what is used the most.
It provides a long or short link you copy and send to all your participants.
You can also paste it on a social media platform group, such as a Facebook group if you want.
The third option is what web developers use to embed the form on their own websites.
I've used this option. Copying and sending the link is enough for me.
In the video, I'm sending the link to me, just like any ordinary participant. I'll fill it out and put in some quick answers. I click submit, and the form is sent off. For the sake of demonstration, I entered some fake data.
