You can create rules (popularly known as filters) in Outlook for different purposes and different methods.
In this video, I have explained four different methods to create rules/filters in Microsoft Outlook.
1. Create a Basic Rule/Filter in Outlook
You can create a basic email filter on Outlook with the subject line. Whenever Outlook receives an email with a similar subject, it will filter that email. According to your needs, you can move that email to a folder, delete that email, mark the email as read, and so on.
2. Filter Outlook Emails With Certain Words
If you want to filter emails when the emails have certain words, then you can do that with Microsoft Outlook. Those certain words can also be in the subject line or the email body.
3. Other Outlook Filter Options
Outlook offers a lot of email rules. Here are some of them:
* Create a rule by the sender's address
* Create a rule by the subject text
* Create a rule by the email sent to addresses
* Create a rule for the emails with attachments
* Create a rule for emails received in a certain date span
* And so on.....
4. Create a rule to move email to a different inbox within Microsoft Outlook
If you have more than one account added to the Outlook application, then you can create this rule. With this rule, you can move emails from one account to another account.
This rule works only when the application is opened on your computer. Because this rules works on the computer only.
When you set up some rules on your Outlook application, the rules will also work with the Outlook web versions. You can modify those rules on the web as well.
