If you have a ring stuck on your finger, it is important to remove it as soon as possible. Sometimes your fingers may swell with a hand injury or due to increased salt intake or arthritis. Although the swelling itself is not dangerous, it can be an emergency if the ring contracts and interferes with normal blood flow. Fortunately, some effective methods can help you remove the ring quickly. Start by using basic first aid techniques such as lifting and icing your finger before trying to take it off. If the ring is still stuck, try using a thread or elastic band to squeeze your finger and make it easier to remove the ring. However, if these strategies have not worked or your arm is injured, seek medical attention immediately.
Method 1
Keep your hand under a stream of cold water. Find the nearest sink and turn on the coldest water you can handle. Hold your finger under the tap to reduce swelling. Cold water will also help to ease the pain a little and save you from panic

Apply the lubricant to the finger area around the ring.Dishwashing soap, baby oil and hand lotion are good options for finger lubrication, which are also safe for the skin. Windex can also work well as a ring removal lubricant, but it contains chemicals that are not intended for use on the skin. Apply enough lubricant to cover the finger around the ring, but not so much that it drips off the finger. Then carefully turn the ring so that the grease gets under it.
Attention: If your skin is damaged, it is best to consult a doctor. You can apply lubricant to your finger if you need to remove the ring, but if the finger is damaged, contact the emergency department of the nearest hospital or call the emergency service.
Hold your hand above the heart level for 5-10 minutes. After greasing your finger, raise your hand above the level of the heart, for example, by raising your hand above your head. At the same time, keep your fingers pointing straight up. Hold your hand in this position for as long as you can, but ideally for about 5-10 minutes
Try to sit at a table and lean on it with your elbow if you can't hold your hand above your head for a very long time.
Apply ice to your finger for 5-10 minutes to further reduce swelling.Wrap the ice pack with a light cloth or paper towel and press it against your finger. You can do this by taking an ice pack in your other hand and pressing it against your finger or holding an ice pack with your injured hand. You can apply ice to your finger at the same time as you lift it
If you don't have an ice pack, wrap a paper towel around a bag of ice cubes or a bag of frozen peas or corn.
Another option is to hold your finger under very cold running water for about 30-60 seconds.
Move the ring to the lower joint while pressing it up.After you lift your finger and apply the glaze to it for 5-10 minutes, the swelling may subside enough to remove the ring. Start moving the ring towards the end of your finger. While doing this, press the ring from the bottom up with your finger.
Pressing the ring from the bottom up can help to overcome the lower joint, which is the widest part of the finger, more easily. This method is known as the caterpillar method.
Push up and pull the ring over the lower joint. As soon as the ring is next to the knuckle of the finger, press the ring from the bottom up and swipe the top of the ring up over the bottom knuckle of the finger. It may seem uncomfortable, but the ring should be removable if you can put it on the top of the joint.
If you are unable to put the ring on the upper part of the joint, stop and try another technique.

Press down on the ring and slide it under the lower joint. If you managed to lift the top of the ring and put it on the knuckle of your finger, press down on the ring from top to bottom. At the same time, with the other hand, swipe the lower part of the ring along the underside of the lower joint. Be careful not to move the ring by the joint at the same time.
Do not press the ring if it does not give in, otherwise you may get hurt.
Then try wrapping your finger if the ring still won't come off.
