Watch to see how to subtract a fraction from a whole number two different ways. For the first one, we begin by putting the whole number over a one to make it a fraction. Then, we get the denominators the same. After this, we subtract the numerators and place it over the common denominator. Then we simplify (if needed). For the second example, we change 7 to 6 + 1 and then change 1 to 11/11. After this, we can easily subtract 8/11. Which strategy do you like better?
