Many years ago, while my mom and I were traveling in Switzerland, I ran short on Swiss Francs (the local currency) and did not want to get any more money since we were leaving the country the next day. Although we were high up in the Alps, I convinced my mom we could hike down the side of the mountain on a paved road (instead of taking the aerial tram), and we could save $10!
