Presented at the VSF March 2022 meeting series by Andy Rayner – Nevion
This presentation surveys on the transformational impact of new technologies on television production. In particular, the advent of IP video, coupled with the increasing use of "light" compression such as JPEG XS have radically reshaped the ways that broadcasters capture, produce and distribute content.
Ongoing work in the standards community today is focused on timing an synchronization in an all-IP environment. This presentation takes a look at some of the challenges and the progress that has been made to date in this area.
