They had a lot more trouble filming this sequel than the original. Filming in the airport was way more difficult thanks to the airport needing to stay operational during filming and Macaulay’s celebrity status. Thanks to that, extra security had to be present to deal with fans and paparazzi, and the decorations had to be kept up since filming happened in February 1992 at O’Hare International Airport. On top of all that, production had spent a large amount of the budget on artificial snow for Central Park, but what they didn’t expect was the fact that New York City ended up getting a blizzard that handled the snow for them. With the extra cold temperatures came freezing cameras as well.
