Welcome to Part 1 of this Kotlin programming tutorial for beginners. In this first part of the tutorial, you'll discover how to get started writing Kotlin code.

You'll create a new Kotlin project and write a simple Hello World example using the Kotlin programming language.
Then, you'll learn the basics of local variables and top-level variables in Kotlin
We'll explore Kotlin's type system and how to define nullable types
Finally, you'll learn to use basic control flow structures such as if/else and when statements
