Create a Reusable TV On & Off Effect in Adobe After Effects
I think this is a really cool way to make a TV On & Off effect, as you can reuse it for all your projects. If you don’t like the way it looks you can also adjust the effects so it will fit your taste. Adding a bit of a glow effect could look really good as well. This tutorial turned out to be longer than expected but I felt it was necessary to show how to make the effect, save it and import it into an existing project. I hope some of you will find value in this 4 minute video.
I got the TV sound from another Youtube video. To do that, I copy and paste the video link into an online converter which generates an audio file from the Youtube video. If you choose to get the audio this way, I recommend asking the video uploader if you may do so. I’m currently using this website to convert Youtube videos to audio files: https://www.mp3juices.cc - It might not be the ideal way but it’s free and pretty easy.
